Here are all the books I read in the month of July! I had a pretty good reading month and I’m proud of myself.
1. The Witch Must Burn by Danielle Paige
I thought this was a pretty good novella and I enjoyed it a lot. I gave it four stars because I felt like it wasn’t as well put together.
2. The Wizard Returns by Danielle Paige
I gave this novella a four out of five stars, because I felt like it didn’t have enough to reach that five stars. I did enjoy it, but not enough to give it five stars.
3. Heart of Tin by Danielle Paige
I didn’t enjoy this novella as much. I thought it was very slow and some parts seemed a little childish to me. I also thought the Tin Man was a tad confusing at points.
4. The Straw King by Danielle Paige
I thought this novella was pretty good. I didn’t think it was worth five stars, but I still liked reading it.
5. Ruler of Beasts by Danielle Paige
I liked this novella a lot. I really enjoy hearing from all the different point of views. It’s very helpful and interesting to see why everything is the way it is.
6. Order of the Wicked by Danielle Paige
I thought this novella was kind of slow and boring compared to the others. However, I did really enjoy seeing all the different perspectives. These novellas really helped me get a better understanding of the series.
7. Ghosts of the McBride House by Cecilia Back
I thought this was a pretty good book, however I was expecting it to be a little more interesting. I thought it was a little boring at times. I thought it was an easy read and it was pretty refreshing.
8. Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes
I really enjoyed this book and thought it was very well written. I gave this book four stars, because I didn’t like how slow it could be at some parts and I thought the ending was bad. It didn’t leave you on a cliff hanger which is what I was expecting. I didn’t like where it left off, but I did like the story it told.
9. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. I heard so many amazing things about it and I had such high hopes for this novel, but in the end it didn’t reach my expectations. I thought this book was very confusing and I just didn’t enjoy it too much, the ending was better though.
10. Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I decided to give this book four stars in the end. I did enjoy this book a lot, but I felt like it was missing something to give it that five stars. I would read this book again and I thought it was very interesting.
11. America’s Coach by Ross Bernstein
I really enjoyed this book! I love reading about Herb Brooks and thought this book was amazing, however it was slow at times and seemed to repeat itself a lot. Other than that it was a good read.
12. Half Brother by Kenneth Oppel
I thought this was a good novel, but there were some things I didn’t enjoy about it. I felt that the main character, Ben, didn’t really grow with his age. I also felt that in the end some things seemed to resemble some of the more recent Planet of the Apes movies. I still thought it was a pretty good book though since it was a middle grade book.
That’s my July Wrap-Up I hope y’all enjoyed it! I had an amazing reading month even though most of what I read were novellas!
