Halloween Read-A-Thon

Okay so I decided to participate in this read-a-thon, because last month wasn’t too great of a reading month for me. I’m hoping this will help push me to read more and it just seems fun to participate in! Anyway, I originally saw this posted on novellique so go check out her blog and all the books she’s reading for this challenge! If you want more details check out the blog Wonderless Reviews she is the creator of this read-a-thon!

read-a-thon-1

Pretty self-explanatory. There’s no “guidelines” if you think a cover is creepy for whatever reason then it counts!

For this I’ve chosen Sanctum by Madeleine Roux. I have already read the first book in this series and bought this book recently to read for the month of October so it’s perfect for the challenge!

read-a-thon-2

By Supernatural or Paranormal I mean books that feature things such as: ghosts, vampires, witches, werewolves ect.

For this I’ve chosen the book Catacomb by Madeleine Roux. Once again this challenge has fit in perfectly for my normal October tbr, because I already planned on finishing this series this month.

read-a-thon-3

In my opinion people are scarier than monsters so for Horror or Thriller this means a book where real people are the ones who are causing all the scariness.

So I chose Great Tales of Horror by H.P. Lovecraft. This is a book full of stories so I don’t plan on finishing it, but ultimately I would like to finish it this month. I do plan on reading it throughout the whole month though.

read-a-thon-4

Again, pretty self-explanatory. Fun fact: the witching hour is 3am-4am, but obviously I’m not going to force you all to read at that time 😅. Unless you’re like me and have insomnia. So just read a book after the sun has set!

So the book I’ve chosen for this challenge is Nine Pines by August Birch. I got this e-book for free and I’m hoping this challenge will help me read it now rather than putting it off.

read-a-thon-5

here’s two options for this challenge. You can choose TRICK and read a scary book you’ve been putting off OR you can choose TREAT and read any book you want from ANY genre (not just horrors ect.)

I decided to go with Trick. So for this one I chose Cujo by Stephen King. I’ve had this book for a long time, but I just haven’t gotten around to reading it.

read-a-thon-6

Read six books! Your sixth book can be any scary book you want. Only do this if you want! I know how it is to feel intimidated by read-a-thons so I really wanted to try and make this as relaxing as possible.

So for this I chose The Call by Peadar O’Guilin. I’ll have to see if I can get to this book, but I’m hoping I can. If I can’t it’s not big deal.

I hope everyone who tries this has fun and reaches their goals! Good luck!
