Sorry I didn’t have the time to do this last week, but it’s okay since I’m doing it this week 🙂 I hope y’all enjoy! Also, I was just thinking about it and I’m pretty sure I’m the one who came up with this and I didn’t get it from anywhere else. Haha, sorry that thought just occurred to me since on my last Three Stars post I said I didn’t know where I got it from and how it might be similar it is, but yeah it didn’t come from anywhere but my head. I don’t know why but I felt like I needed to clarify.
So what I do is I will pick to post about three books, three characters, three authors, etc. I try my best to do this every Sunday! Anyway, let’s get started!
My Top Three Favorite Books of 2017
I’m gonna talk about my three favorite reads of 2017! The order is gonna be random though. I have a feeling this will be hard! Plus, there are so many books I have yet to read, so if y’all really like this and want to see more of my favorite books of 2017 than comment down below and I’ll write a post about my 10 favorite reads of this year!
1. Heartless by Marissa Meyer. I still think about this book all the time! I read this book at the beginning of the year and when people ask for a book recommendation this book comes to mind.
This book is so magical and creative that I couldn’t get enough of it! It was crushing and beautiful all at once. It made me feel so many emotions and I honestly can’t get over how perfect this book is. I know there are some people who don’t agree but that doesn’t matter because this book is beautifully written to me.
Also, look at how beautiful the cover is! If you haven’t seen the book without the dust jacket either than you haven’t lived! Don’t worry I’ll hook y’all up with a picture of this book without the dust jacket. Ready for this?
Bam! Pure beauty! Picture credit to Bibliomantics! 🙂 (I linked it to her blog post that had the picture in it) I also wrote a review over this book if y’all are interested. I wrote it at the beginning of this year, but might have posted it pretty recently. I don’t remember if it is spoiler free or not, but I don’t think it is. Anyway, the link to it is here!
I think I got the point across that everyone should read this book and that I love it very, very, very much! So let’s move on! 😀
2. The Hat Trick by Tom Earle. I don’t know if those who don’t like hockey will enjoy this book as much as I did. I’m a huge hockey fan and so I love finding hockey related books. This book was definitely a gem. I honestly wouldn’t mind rereading this book, because it isn’t as fresh on my mind as I would like it to be since I enjoyed it so much.
I read Tom Earle’s other book, Home Ice Advantage, and I didn’t enjoy it as much as this book, but both books are great! Anyway, I don’t have much else to say about this book besides that I thoroughly enjoyed it and I wish I had someone to talk to about it because it was just that amazing and I need someone to fangirl with!
3. Smokejumper: A Memoir By One of America’s Most Select Airborne Firefighters by Jason A. Ramos and Julian Smith. This was a really hard choice for me because I had a lot of five-star reads this year. I was going to choose Everything, Everything, but that book gets enough hype and I thought I would introduce a book that not a lot of people would normally read. I don’t always read nonfiction, but I did this month and I really, really loved it.
This book is about, as the title suggests, smokejumping. I vaguely knew that smokejumping was a thing, but other than that I hadn’t a clue what it was or what smokejumpers actually did. After reading this book I gained a whole new respect for the men and women who choose such a profession. I honestly think everyone should read this book because what they do is so important. This book is very eye-opening and informative.
Well that’s about it for this Sunday’s Three Stars! Like I said earlier if y’all want me to do a post about more books I liked in 2017 Just Comment Below!
