“There are many dangerous people in this world. but there are also many good people. Brave people. No matter how bad things get, we have to remember that. So long as there are heroes in this world, there’s hope that tomorrow night might be better.” ~Renegades

Renegades by Marissa Meyer: 5/5 Stars

The Renegades are a syndicate of prodigies — humans with extraordinary abilities — who emerged from the ruins of a crumbled society and established peace and order where chaos reigned. As champions of justice, they remain a symbol of hope and courage to everyone… except the villains they once overthrew.

Nova has a reason to hate the Renegades, and she is on a mission for vengeance. As she gets closer to her target, she meets Adrian, a Renegade boy who believes in justice — and in Nova. But Nova’s allegiance is to a villain who has the power to end them both.

My Review:

This will be a short, spoiler-free review! I really hope y’all enjoy it though.

After reading and loving Heartless I knew I just had to pick this book up! I obviously wasn’t disappointed or let down. After reading both Heartless and Renegades I want to read The Lunar Chronicles. I’ve heard great things about those books and I definitely love Meyer’s writing style.

I really loved the characters in the book along with the perspectives. You read from to characters perspectives, one a hero, and one a villain. I loved seeing how different yet similar they were. They both wanted similar things but for different reasons and organizations.

My favorite character had to be Nova. She was a villain who was a badass but also had her secrets. I love how her character unfolded and you got to see such deep sides of her. She did some things I didn’t expect and I just loved her for ’em.

This book had some really good plot twists as well. I love books that have multiple plot twists and this book was one of those. Plot twists help keep me interested and they keep my mind guessing. This book was excellent on that, I was always wondering what would happen, I was questioning things, and I was always shocked with the outcomes.

Meyer’s writing style is so beautiful! I have fallen in love with her writing style and how everything is explained beautifully and how it always keeps my interest. I never felt bored with this book! I was able to fly through it because it was so good! I usually get intimidated by big books so it’s pretty amazing when I find a big book that I can just fly through and not want to put down. Such a beautiful book.

I don’t think there were any dislikes for me when it came to Renegades. I read it in December and I’ve moved on to other book, but I can’t recall disliking anything in this book. It was a diverse and different read. It wasn’t your typical hero/villain story. It was interesting and unique in my opinion.

Overall I would recommend this book to any Marissa Meyer fans. It was a beautifully written book with so many great twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. It’s a great fantasy type read and recommend it to anyone looking for something good. It’s a bog book but I managed to fly right through it, because it’s just great!

I hope y’all liked this short review! I’ve been meaning to do it and I thought it would be better than doing my typical Friday post. I really hope y’all enjoyed! Comment below if you’ve read this book and what you thought of it!!
