Down The TBR Hole #6

Another Done The TBR Hole! I love doing this post! It’s so much fun ūüôā

Last time I ended with 422 books on my to-read Goodreads shelf. Let’s see if we can make that number a lot smaller. I now have 423 books on my Goodreads shelf so I did pretty good at controlling the number of books I add.

So, normally you do 5 or 10 books, but this time I’m going to try to do more…or just however many I feel like.

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you‚Äôre feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses¬†of the books
  • Decide: keep it¬†or should it go?

1.¬†Nora & Kettle¬†by Lauren Nicolle Taylor. This book seems pretty interesting, but at the moment it doesn’t sound like something I would want to read, at least not anytime soon. I’ sure it’s a good book, but I’m not as in love with the synopsis as I once was. Also, I’m not looking for more series at the moment.

Verdict: Go

the kingdom of little wounds.jpg

2.¬†The Kingdom of Little Wounds by Susann Cokal. I love the cover of this book which is why it’s on my shelf. I mean look at this cover! It’s gorgeous! However, after rereading the synopsis I’m not really intrigued. It sounds like an okay books, but not enough to pull me in. Also, I’m being a lot harder since I need to cut down my TBR. I’m not saying the book would be bad, but the synopsis doesn’t draw me in enough.

Verdict: Go

both of me.jpg

3.¬†Both of Me¬†by Jonathan Friesen. I was ready to take this book off my shelf just because contemporary books aren’t my favorite. I like contemporary, but I like action books more. However, this book seems really good! Therefore, it shall stay! ūüôā

Verdict: Keep

the beast within

4.¬†The Beast Within¬†by Serena Valentino. This one is a for sure keep. I want to read all of her books that she’s written like this, so I’m just gonna list this one, because the other ones are on my shelf and will be read eventually haha. I hope that made sense.

Verdict: Keep

all the bright places.jpg

5.¬†All The Bright Places¬†by Jennifer Niven. This one is a definite yes. I’ve been wanting to read this book for ages but for some reason I still haven’t bought it. Maybe I’ll buy it soon and read it once and for all haha.

 Verdict: Keep

6. Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton. This book is currently sitting on my physical shelf. I need to buy the second one still, but I really want to read it so obviously it has to stay.

Verdict: Keep

7.¬†Room¬†by Emma Donoghue. I reread the synopsis and was ready to keep this on my shelf, but after reading some of the reviews I think I’m gonna take it off. I’m not sure reading a book told from the perspective of a child is something I want right now. Maybe one day we shall meet again¬†Room.

Verdict: Go

the lost hero.jpg

8.¬†The Lost Hero¬†by Rick Riordan. This one counts for the series as usual. I have to keep this series on my shelf because I really want to read all of his books so I can be apart of that world and so I can read the¬†Magnus Chase¬†series…however, I’ve been told mixed things about reading his other books before it. I’ve heard to read all his other series before reading¬†Magnus Chase but I’ve also heard that the¬†Magnus Chase¬†books are more of its own thing and that I don’t need to read his other books. I don’t know what to do so any tips are helpful.

Verdict: Keep

the lightining thief.jpg

9. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Pretty much the same thing I explained above.

Verdict: Keep

the red pyramid

10.¬†The Red Pyramid¬†by Rick Riordan. Once again…already explained it!

Verdict: Keep

stealing snow.jpg

11.¬†Stealing Snow¬†by Danielle Paige. This is a tough one for me. I love Danielle Paige’s other novels, but I’m skeptical about this one. I’ve been wanting it for a while now, but after rereading the synopsis I’m not so sure. It sounds interesting, but at the same time I don’t know if I want to read it. I think I’m gonna take it off the list, but like always that doesn’t mean I’ll never read it. ūüôā

Verdict: Go

yellow brick war.jpg

12.¬†Yellow Brick War¬†by Danielle Paige. I’m going to finish this series eventually….I really enjoy the series, but I’ll probably need to reread the first and second book. I still need to buy this book, but I just haven’t gotten around to it.

Verdict: Keep

all our pretty songs.jpg

13.¬†All Our Pretty Songs¬†by Sarah McCarry. I’m gonna have to say no for this one. Just doesn’t interest me like it once did.

Verdict: Go

14.¬†Starfall¬†by Melissa Landers. I really loved the first book and I was super excited about this one but never got around to buying it. However, I will buy it eventually! I’ll probably need to reread the first book haha.

Verdict: Keep

15.¬†It Ends With Us¬†by Colleen Hoover. I’ve heard so many great things about Colleen Hoover and her novels and that’s why I bought this one. I definitely plan on reading this one some time…I just don’t know when that time will come haha.

Verdict: Keep

I’m gonna go ahead and stop here. So what I’m gonna do is go through my Goodreads and just start getting rid of books. That way I can cut it back a lot and then these posts will be to help keep is small. Hope that made sense haha.
