The Stars crushed the Ducks with a 5-2 win yesterday! Jason Dickinson showed his talent last night as he got two goals and an assist during last night’s game for a total of 3 points. He currently has 4 points for the season so far with one other point for an assist which he actually got in the game against the Kings. 🙂
The first goal in the first period goes to Jason Dickinson! (No assist) He managed to score that goal 4 minutes and 58 seconds into the first period. In net for the Ducks was John Gibson their starter. Dickinson managed to score a smooth backhand while using Brett Ritchie as a decoy by making Gibson think he was gonna pass to him.
Radek Faksa turned over the puck and Ryan Getzlaf got a goal. It’s unfortunate, but it happens. Ben Bishop didn’t really even react to the goal haha I don’t think he was expecting it honestly.
The next goal was by Roman Polak which was his first goal as a Star!! He plays defense which means goals aren’t as plentiful for him so getting one in his 7th game isn’t too bad. 🙂 He was assisted by Jason Dickinson and Brett Ritchie. As y’all can see he had a good little backhand shot that went top shelf…nice. He scored this 11 minutes and 30 seconds into the first period.
Moving on to the second period, the first goal was scored by Ryan Getzlaf. He scored 3 minutes and 9 seconds into the second period and was assisted by Nick Ritchie and Rickard Rakell. His goal in the first period was unassisted by the way..in case anyone cared. Getzlaf’s goal managed to tie up the game once again (2-2).
The next goal went to Miro Heiskanen with the assists going to Jason Spezza and Devin Shore. Miro’s first NHL goal was a pretty good one and I have a feeling we’ll see plenty more from him! He managed to get this goal 4 minutes and 53 seconds into the second period.
11 minutes and 16 seconds in Mattias Janmark scored us another goal giving us a two goal lead! He as assisted by Julius Honka and John Klingberg. I nice wrist shot, low blocker that went in off the pipe. Stars had some pretty good goals!
Our last goal for the second period and the last goal of the game was by Jason Dickinson. He was assisted by Tyler Pitlick. He managed to score this goal 18 minutes and 4 seconds into the second period with a snap shot that got by Gibson.
The Ducks had some good opportunities but thanks to some really good saves by Bishop they weren’t able to get a goal. They definitely could have turned the game around during the third while the Stars are feeling comfortable with that three goal lead, but Bish wouldn’t let ’em. The Stars also had some good scoring opportunities but Gibson wasn’t about to let their score get higher haha. Good game overall.
Next game is Sunday the 28th against the Detroit Red Wings.
