Hump Day Hype: #29

Wow super late because I forgot it was Wednesday so I hope y’all appreciate this anyway! Sorry!!

This post always has me thinking because there are so many cool books to be excited about, but which one should I make a post about? That is the question. So, it always takes me a while to finally pick a book I think is post worthy. (I think a lot of books are post worthy).

Victoria McQueen has a secret gift for finding things: a misplaced bracelet, a missing photograph, answers to unanswerable questions. On her Raleigh Tuff Burner bike, she makes her way to a rickety covered bridge that, within moments, takes her wherever she needs to go, whether it’s across Massachusetts or across the country.

Charles Talent Manx has a way with children. He likes to take them for rides in his 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith with the NOS4A2 vanity plate. With his old car, he can slip right out of the everyday world, and onto the hidden roads that transport them to an astonishing – and terrifying – playground of amusements he calls “Christmasland.”

Then, one day, Vic goes looking for trouble—and finds Manx. That was a lifetime ago. Now Vic, the only kid to ever escape Manx’s unmitigated evil, is all grown up and desperate to forget. But Charlie Manx never stopped thinking about Victoria McQueen. He’s on the road again and he’s picked up a new passenger: Vic’s own son.

My Thoughts:

So I finally bought this book this year and I think I got it for a good deal if I remember correctly. Anyway, I started it a few days ago and I’m really loving it. It’s so freaking good! I absolutely love his writing style and I’ve already fallen in love with the characters. I’m 200 pages in and I am so happy to have found a book that’s just so good. I feel like recently a lot of books haven’t grasped my attention so it’s a relief to know that I’m not just being too harsh of a critic.

Anyway, I think this story is so different and interesting. I’ve  heard good things about this book, but I was worried it was going to be one of those books that’s overhyped. So far it’s living up to its hype. I can’t wait to finish it and see how it turns out so I really need to step up my reading and make sure I finish it before this year is over. 🙂

Have any of y’all read this book? What do you think? Comment below!!

Once again sorry this is so late haha.
