December Wrap-Up

These are all the books I read in December!

margaritas, marzipan, and murder

1. Margaritas, Marzipan, and Murder by Harper Lin

Rating: 3/5 Stars

I didn’t like this one as much mainly because I feel like the author bashes young people/ young adults way too much. It just bothered me and I felt it was very unnecessary. It was an okay book.

lattes, ladyfingers, and lies

2. Lattes, Ladyfingers, and Lies by Harper Lin

Rating: 2/5 Stars

I don’t know what it was about this one but Fran really annoyed me. She just got on my nerves which is kind of sad because I was hoping this series would be good, but it seems like some of the books are good and some of the books just bother me. Oh well.

how to raise your self esteem.jpg

3. How To Raise Your Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden

Rating: 2/5 Stars

I thought this book was okay. I felt like it just wasn’t for me though. I also think it could have been longer, but I did listen to the audiobook version so I don’t know if that makes a difference or not. It had some helpful stuff, but just not what I was looking for.

true love

4. True Love by Thich Nhat Hanh

Rating: 3/5 Stars

I didn’t love this book, but I thought it was a pretty good book. Ha the irony. Anyway, it’s mostly about Buddhism and finding true love that way, but it still has some good points and it does relate it to christianity at times. It was an interesting book for sure. 🙂

5. Us by Curtis Wiklund

Rating: 3/5 Stars

I thought this was a really cute and easy read! I needed a quick read that didn’t require a lot of focus and this book was perfect for it. I love all his different styles too.

100 ways to motivate yourself.jpg

6. 100 Ways To Motivate Yourself by Steve Chandler

Rating: 3/5 Stars

I thought this book had some good tips in it and I liked what he had to say. I listened to the audiobook and I do feel like he was kinda monotone but that’s not too big of a deal haha. Overall it was a pretty good book with some good advice.

the essence of happiness

7. The Essence Of Happiness by The Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler

Rating: 3/5 Stars

This book was good but it did seem kind of repetitive. It did have some good point though, but I also felt the points were kind of known already. Maybe that’s just me though. It wasn’t a bad book though.

whose boat is this boat

8. Whose Boat Is This Boat? by  The Staff Of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert

Rating: 1/5 Stars

If you couldn’t tell I was just trying to reach my goal and this book was a 5 minute read haha. It was a stupid book that had nothing to it really except that it had helped raised money for hurricane victims.

Sorry I forgot to post this yesterday hah. As y’all can see a lot of the books I read this month were quick reads in order to reach my goal. Oh well! I reached it so I’m happy!

    1. One of his tips was to just go ahead and do it, “it” being whatever you want/need to do. But not to worry about how you do it. That it is okay to do things badly or slowly as long as you acknowledge you’re doing what needs to be done and that it doesn’t have to be done perfectly 🙂
