If you haven’t checked out my other posts for Lots-Of-Love I would definitely recommend it!! ❤
Today’s post is going to be about my work. If you know about my blog/explored my blog you would know that I’m a flight attendant. I would suggest the Fly With Me tab if you wanna read some of my stories since I’ve started working as a flight attendant haha.
So I’ve been a flight attendant for about 8 months now. It’s crazy how fast the time has gone by. I feel like I’ve just started but at the same time I feel like I’ve been flying for years.
I love my job though. I love going somewhere different or even just working with different crews so often. 🙂 This month I actually get to work with someone I’ve flown with before and I’m excited about that. You just never know what to expect. I like the uncertainty of each day knowing that my schedule can change and that each day is different. It makes things more interesting to me.
I would say the only thing that gets to me would be the rude people. I know they’re unavoidable, but it’s tough to handle. People can be so rude and I just want to go off on them, but I can’t. All I can do is smile and do my best to make them happy. Not all flight attendants are like that and I understand it’s hard not to get snappy with these people, but our job is to make sure the situation doesn’t get worse…not add onto it. It can be really annoying because passengers treat pilots like they’re gods or something compared to us as if we didn’t serve them the whole flight; as if we wouldn’t be the ones saving them in the event of an emergency.
Oh well, I try to look at the positives though. I usually work with cool crews, get to be somewhere different all the time, I get to be on a plane and in the airports (which I love a lot), I get travel benefits, etc. Also, depending on the crew we’ll go out which can be fun…as long as they aren’t planning on going to bars/clubs. Being 20 can suck because most pilots and flight attendants like to go drinking if we have a long layover.
This job has helped break me out of my shell a lot. I’m not outgoing but I’m better than I used to be. I’m still really quiet, but I’m not nearly as bad as I used to be. I don’t really know how to describe the change, but just take my word for it haha.
Oh! Another benefit is being able to see so many beautiful views. On early morning flights I get to watch the sun rise and paint the sky. On later flights I get to watch the sun set. I’ve got to see lightning while in the air which was freaking awesome. I don’t think the passengers found is cool, but I found it really cool. It’s completely different from seeing lightning on the ground. I get to see the snow-covered mountains in Utah. I can see the beautiful mountains and hills in Mexico. I get to see the way the city lights on late night flights look like Christmas lights up in the air. I get to see so many different airports and how cool they can be in their own way. I absolutely love my job. I can’t wait to start using my benefits more and exploring all these different places. 🙂
I hope y’all enjoyed this post!! ❤ Comment below if you love your job and what it is. If you don’t love your job comment your dream job!
