Hump Day Hype: #35

the past and other things that should stay buried.jpg

Synopsis:

A good friend will bury your body, a best friend will dig you back up.

Dino doesn’t mind spending time with the dead. His parents own a funeral home, and death is literally the family business. He’s just not used to them talking back. Until Dino’s ex-best friend July dies suddenly—and then comes back to life. Except not exactly. Somehow July is not quite alive, and not quite dead.

As Dino and July attempt to figure out what’s happening, they must also confront why and how their friendship ended so badly, and what they have left to understand about themselves, each other, and all those grand mysteries of life.

My thoughts:

I finally got this book! It came out yesterday actually and that’s when it came in the mail as well. My boyfriend pre-ordered it for Christmas since I gave him a list of a few books I wanted.

Honestly, this cover is what had me hooked. I absolutely love the cover of this book! Plus if you read the synopsis it sounds pretty interesting and different. I’m kinda getting zombie vibes but I’m not 100% sure…the synopsis kind of leaves it open and vague…it makes it more mysterious that way. I like it. It’s a good way to get me interested at least. I’m hoping it’s a god book though and it’s too cheesy or doesn’t turn out dumb. I’ve read some books that seemed good, but when it came down to it the author just didn’t do a good job. Those are always disappointing when the synopsis is better than the book itself.

I’m planning on getting to this book soon…I would love to get to it this month but I’m not sure that’ll be possible. If it isn’t then I’ll definitely read it next month. 🙂

What do y’all think about this book? Does it sound interesting to you? Is it not your cup of tea? Comment below! Also, comment below a book that you are excited about! It can be new or old! 🙂 ❤
