Ya in May

I saw this instagram post about YA books that are going to be coming out in May and I thought maybe it would be fun to introduce y’all to these books and determine, myself if I want to add them to my TBR or not. It’s a lot of books so I’ll start with the first picture of the post which consists of 6 books. I’ll make it like a little series. 🙂 The Insta account is @uppercaseya. If you want to be taken to the Goodreads page to read the synopsis of any of the books mentioned just click the cover of the book!

made in korea

1. Made In Korea by Sarah Suk- So, Sarah is a debut author (I think all of these books are debut authors) and I’m slightly torn. I feel like this book would be a very cheesy, cute, and funny read. The fact that it is her first novel would be cool to read and watch her grow as an author. Part of me is worried I would hate it though. I’m also wondering if it would be just a fun read though. It’s compared to Frankly In Love which I wasn’t a big fan of…but I’m willing to give it a shot.

Verdict: Added to TBR

may the best man win

2. May The Best Man Win by ZR Ellor- This book sure has it all. I definitely recommend checking out the synopsis if you’re looking for a diverse read. This book doesn’t really peak my interest. The lovers-to-haters trope has me sketched out after being disappointed by The Hating Game. It does sound like and interesting read…just not enough for me to pick it up…yet. Maybe once there are more reviews I’ll revisit it.

Verdict: Not Added to TBR

meet cute diary

3. Meet Cute Diary by Emery Lee- This book sounds pretty cute. It’s got an interesting (not uncommon) trope that I do like. I don’t really have much more to say. It just sounds like a cute and fun read. I’m intrigued by it and wanna see how things turn out.

Verdict: Added to TBR

counting down with you

4. Counting Down With You by Tashie Bhuiyan- First thing…I’m not a fan of the cover…just had to put it out there haha. Anyway, I’m torn with this book too. It sounds kind of interesting, but it also sounds kind of boring. It makes me wonder if it’ll be better than the synopsis. Oh, I was confused by the synopsis but now it hit me haha. I’m no sure if my realization is an obvious one or if it’s not so I’ll just keep it to myself.

Verdict: Not added to TBR

hurricane summer

5. Hurricane Summer by Asha Bromfield- Lord, this is a beautiful cover. Although, I think I would like to read this in the future I don’t think I want to read it anytime soon. So, I’m gonna add it to my TBR, but it’s unlikely I’ll be buying it next month.

Verdict: Added to TBR

6. Indivisible by Daniel Aleman- Seems like an interesting book with interesting topics that get brought up. It doesn’t pique my interest enough though. Not the type of read I’m looking for at the moment.

Verdict: Not added to TBR

I hope y’all liked this post! It was fun to discover these and go through and think about them. 🙂 Comment below if you added any of these to your TBR!
